Canada Post suspended mail service to a four-block area of Moose Jaw after hawks threatened a mail carrier.


When the mail carrier tried to deliver mail in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, the birds swooped down and threatened to attack.

The common prairie hawk, which can grow to 50 centimetres in length and weigh up to 1.1 kilograms, is known to be quite territorial when caring for young.

In Calgary a hawk repeatedly dive-bombed a letter carrier, breaking the bicycle helmet she was wearing to protect herself.
