Olympic Representation by Country in Different Years

Edwin Flack was a one man Olympic team from his country. He won 2 golds in track and a bronze in tennis.


Athletes from 204 countries will compete under national flags at London 2012.

In addition, 4 athletes, one from South Sudan, and 3 from Netherlands Antilles will compete under the Olympic rings as their country has no Olympic Committee.

Just 245 athletes from 14 countries headed to Athens in 1896.

The one-man Australian team, Edwin Flack won both the 800m and 1500m, and came third (playing with an Englishman) in the tennis doubles.
