Richard Noble wants his car to go more than 1,000 mph. Wheels going 10,000 rpm ⇒ 50,000 Gs at the rims.


BLOODHOUND SSC will accelerate from rest using an EJ-200 jet engine, taking it up to 300 mph.

At that point a rocket will be ignited, so that it and the jet are operating simultaneously, thereby increasing the acceleration to well over 2g.

Having reached maximum speed of 1,050mph, the rocket thrust will be stopped, but the jet engine will continue burning for a few seconds until the speed is 1,065 mph (Mach 1.4)

The dynamic air pressure at maximum speed will exceed 12 tons per square meter.

The wheels will be rotating at more than 10,000 rpm.

The centrifugal force at the rims will exceed 50,000 g.

Aerodynamic design will prevent the 6.5 ton vehicle from lifting off the ground.
