Frog leg lovers are eating some species to extinction.


Frog legs are eaten all over the United States and Europe, but keeping all of those legs on the plate is wiping out tropical frogs.

In Indonesia alone, at least one billion frogs a year – and rising – are hunted out of forests to support the international frog leg industry. 4-5,000 tons of frog legs are eaten each year.

Over 150 species of frogs have already disappeared.

Attempts to farm frogs have failed due to fungus infections. Catching wild frogs continues to be the primary source for export.
