A giant cloud of hydrogen is hurtling towards our galaxy at 150 miles per second.
Smith's Cloud, a hydrogen fog bank measuring 11,000 light years by 2,500 light years will collide with the Milky Way in 20-40 million years.
It contains enough hydrogen to produce a million stars like our Sun.
The shockwaves from the collision will set off a tremendous burst of star formation.
These stars will be massive, rushing through their lives quickly and exploding as supernova.
