14 year old Gerrit Blank was hit by a meteorite travelling nearly 50,000 kph and suffered only minor injuries.
The red hot, pea-sized piece of rock hit his hand before bouncing off and causing a foot wide crater in the ground.
The teenager survived the strike with only a three-inch long scar on his hand.
Scientists are now studying the pea-sized meteorite which crashed to Earth in Essen, Germany.
Others claim that it is an unlikely story, probably fabricated by the boy.
